I'm thankful for...
As we all celebrate Thanksgiving, I wanted to share what I’m thankful for (aside from my wonderful clients and design talents!).
Family is at the top of my list. Cliche, right? Let me share a bit more.
When my sister and I were growing up we were very close to our grandparents. They lived in the area and we saw them often for Sunday dinners. I remember The Washington Post spread out on the “Florida” room floor, adults having drinks in fancy glasses, my sister and me trying to discover what our grandmother had cooking on the stove – a game we played for years!
I loved that relationship. It continued until they passed when I was a young adult. We knew them beyond birthdays and holidays. They were wonderful people.
Once my husband and I had children, it was very important to me that they have the chance to know their grandparents in the same way. I am thankful that that is happening.
We are fortunate to live very close to all of our girls’ grandparents. The girls KNOW them. They learn from them, they are spoiled by them (ice cream and waffles for breakfast!), they celebrate their “firsts” with them (losing first tooth, writing name for first time, learning to read and watching them play sports) and they enjoy their company.
So, today, and every day, I am very thankful for my family and for the relationship my daughters have with their grandparents. What are you thankful for?
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.
