Design Journey: A Contemporary Kitchen

We’re happy to be working with our White Spring Way clients again — this time in their kitchen! We’re in the process of creating a functional, warm and clean-lined kitchen for them to enjoy.

Our goals for this kitchen are to maximize storage, bring in clean lines and warm wood tones and nods to nature and fresh finishes. To maximize storage in this small space (there’s a large window on the outside wall that prohibits using cabinets on that side of the room), we’re taking the cabinets to the ceiling, extending a wall by 6” to allow us to include a cabinet for trash & recycling and using functional cabinet inserts for spices and pots & pans. In a small space every inch counts!

We’re using updated shaker style doors and flat drawers for a clean look and brining in a warm, soft gray/brown stain on the cabinets with soothing, soft greens and soft whites in the quartz counters and leaf-inspired backsplash tile. Brushed gold hardware will add an updated finish to this space.

This project includes more than the kitchen. The clients are bringing the wood flooring into their kitchen and restraining the floors and we’re also removing a dividing half wall between the dining room and family room, created an open space with more flexibility.

The products will be ordered soon and work will begin on this project this summer. We’ll keep you posted along the way!
