Inspirational beach houses

Summertime – the season to soak up some vitamin D and swap your shoes and socks for a little bit of sand and surf. Inspired by this Independence Day holiday week, and all things rest and relaxation, I’m taking a digital tour of inspirational beach houses across our star-spangled country. From modern, cliff side California homes to Nantucket Sound hugging cottages, it’s awe-inspiring to see how interior design can differ from sea to shining sea.

{This Miami home is a far cry from your “typical” beach house. Embracing South Florida sleekness, the matte black staircase and glass handrails lend well to the space’s open floor plan. Black, white and gray are in full modern effect here, a luxe environment for the lavish beachcomber. From: Britto Charette.}
