What are the benefits of working with an interior designer?
Along with a beautiful home designed just for you, we deliver the following results.
Time savings – We know where to go for everything related to your home. This will save you endless amounts of time researching products, brands and prices. We have resources on hand or will spend the time researching selections so that you don’t have to spend your weekends and evenings shopping.
Environmental beauty – What you wake up to every morning matters and makes an impression on your life. Starting your day surrounded by beauty impacts how you look at the world. When a job is complete many clients come into a home they love and can’t believe is theirs. What a wonderful feeling to have in your own home! Living in a beautiful and functional home is an amazing thing that you deserve.
Efficient spaces – We will help you effectively use the space you have and develop efficiencies within those spaces. Well-utilized rooms make your home work better for you. Often you have enough space, it’s just being used inefficiently.
Respected budget – During our first meeting we will help you establish a budget and understand what your budget can and cannot buy. We will suggest the best way to spend your budget to achieve your goals. We will spend your budget wisely on quality pieces and will advise you on where to spend and where to save.
Access to unique resources – We have resources beyond the sources you are familiar with. Customized furnishings are available for those who desire. There is merchandise available to designers that is not available to the public. By cumulating these resources we can help to make your space look more collected, unique and pulled together.
Establish long term plans – If your budget doesn’t support your dreams just yet, we can help you with a long-term plan for achieving your goals. What do to first, second and third keeps you on track for both short- and long-term projects.
Your personal style expressed – You will receive personalized interiors that reflect you, your family, your lifestyle and your history. Think of us as your visual story-teller who will create spaces to tell your story.
Trusted liaison – We will build a stronger bridge between you and your architect or contractor early on and can head off design misses in your overall plan. We have many home improvement industry contacts. These connections can save you time and headaches trying to identify reliable tradespeople for your projects.
Peace of Mind – The comfort of knowing smart selections will be made, challenges will be handled in a timely and in a professional manner, that your spaces will function well, last for years and that you will have a partner throughout the design process. We received this note from a past client, “you added to my peace of mind immensely this week and set us up for a restful vacation.”
How do I begin working with April Force Pardoe Interiors?
Every design relationship begins with our online questionnaire followed by a get acquainted call. During this call we’ll discuss your needs, goals, ideas and project budget. We’ll talk about the results our services provide and how can we work together to create a home you love. If we decide to work together after this conversation we’ll set up a design consultation.
Prior to our design consultation you’ll receive our interior design “homework” which provides us information about your design preferences and desires. The design consult is a working meeting that allows us to get to know each other more and explore your home, as well as offer solutions to current design challenges. From there we’ll establish a scope of work for your project and the design services needed to complete your project.
How long does a typical project take to complete?
Projects vary, but using the full design of a medium-sized living room as an example, you can expect the design process to take about 6 – 8 weeks from the initial consultation meeting to the final design presentation. A full design may include a space plan, all furniture and accessory selections, window treatments and if applicable, custom woodwork designs. These items and designs are presented in person, over 2 – 3 meetings. The final design presentation includes all furniture selections, fabrics, wood samples and a beautiful color rendering, all within the established budget.
How does furniture purchasing work?
If you hire our office to coordinate the purchase management of your design project, we’ll create a detailed proposal that outlines your selections and final costs. This is presented at the final design presentation. Once you approve the purchasing proposal, pay the purchasing fee and product costs, we’ll manage the purchases, delivery and installation of all of your selections. For a list of all services covered under the purchasing proposal, click here. You also have the option of taking a completed final design plan and coordinating all of the purchases and deliveries on your own.

This fee represents a reasonable assessment of the time and resources it will take to professionally complete your job.
