September is finally here! I love this month because the air begins to chill and I can open the windows and hear the sounds of the outdoors. And oh, the colors! There are so many warm shades on the trees and I can’t help but want to bring those colors indoors. This month gold is making me really happy. Here’s how you can use it in your rooms, bringing the outside in.

Gold is sophisticated and luxurious. It’s classic and demands attention. Quite and bold at the same time. Gold is also very versatile. It can be brought in via metals in light fixtures, accessories and finishes in baths or kitchens. You can also use a warm gold paint color on your walls or fabrics with gold colors on your sofas, chairs, draperies or pillows.
It pairs so well with many colors! It looks amazing with gray, black and cream. It also looks wonderful with blue, plum and green in rich jewel tones. I’m working on a master bedroom project right now that combines warm gold, slate and a deep moss green. It’s lovely (see a picture, below).

{Basalt Bluegold fabric from Fabricut. I love the blue and gold color combo. This would make pretty toss pillows or a window seat cushion.}
How would you use these fabrics in your home?
Adding gold to your home decor can be as simple as adding drapery panels or a throw blanket to your family room. Small commitment, big impact!

I hope this color post inspires you to add a pop of gold to your home this month! What colors are you loving in September and how are you using them in your home?
Happy decorating!
