Many folks find their dining room is an under used room. It’s often saved for formal occasions and holidays. I believe that you should use all of the rooms in your home so I have a few ideas to dress up your dining room so you may want to use it for dinner on Wednesday night as well as your Thanksgiving feast!
Consider using your good china more often than on special occasions. Our beautiful pieces should be used not stored away! Make your china feel more relaxed by using simple tablecloths or placements and use a mixture of every day glasses and silverware.
Update your dining room linens – including tablecloths, place mats, table runners and napkins. This is a great way to inject new color or style into your room. Use the color palette from adjoining rooms to help select your colors.

Create a stunning, yet simple centerpiece for your table. Clusters of beautiful items create amazing centerpieces. Gather a large amount of vases, candles, greenery or silver. Use only one type of item, or mix them all. Group then down the center of your table, on a lovely table runner, and fill vases with fresh greens from your yard. Use one color candle to unify the display.

Another centerpiece idea is to bring in outdoor lanterns and line up 3 down the center of your table. Place a lovely keepsake in each one for a pleasing display.
What tips will you try to dress up your dining room?
Happy decorating!

Thanks for the inspiration, April! Fall is a great time to try something new at our dining room table. I think my kids are going to love it!!!
Can you recommend a source for great table linens? Do you prefer etsy.com or are there other sites you would suggest?
Thanks for your comments and questions! Deb, in addition to etsy, Williams-Sonoma and Neiman Marcus are both great sources for beautiful, quality table linens. I also suggest you carry your table measurements with you and shop second hand or antique shops for unique finds!
